Abdomen MRI Dielectric Pad placement on body

Placement

Anatomically shaped for the scan region, then used with the existing coil workflow.

Wrap the pad over the abdomen and secure it with the auxiliary belt so it remains stable during breathing.

01

Position

Place the pad directly on the target anatomy, conforming it to the body surface.

02

Insert into coil

Slide inside the standard flex or spine coil as usual. No hardware modification needed.

03

Scan

Run your existing protocol without any parameter changes. Improvement is immediate and passive.

Frequently Asked Questions

No protocol changes are needed. Simply position the pad on the target anatomy and run your existing sequence without modification. The improvement in B1+ field homogeneity happens passively.

Yes. All MTechLab dielectric pads are MR Conditional and have been tested per ASTM F2503. They are safe for use in MRI systems at the field strengths listed on this page.

Yes. We regularly manufacture pads for non-standard anatomies, paediatric patients, and research applications. Contact us with the target circumference or dimensions and field strength — we'll specify the right configuration.

Wipe with a standard MRI-safe disinfectant (IPA wipe or equivalent). Do not autoclave or immerse in liquid. The outer fabric is resistant to common hospital disinfectants. Full reprocessing instructions are available on request.

3T systems show the largest absolute SNR gain because dielectric effects are strongest at higher frequencies. 1.5T also benefits significantly, particularly for deep anatomy. 7T research systems see the highest percentage improvement.
